It was a rather eventful Sunday at MetLife Stadium, with the Carolina Panthers jumping to a 35-7 lead against the New York Giants, only to allow 28 straight points . . . then kick a winning field goal as time expired.
But despite the visiting team securing a 14-0 record, the big headline was the battle between Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and Panthers cornerback Josh Norman. The players went back-and-forth all game, with Beckham being flagged three times for unsportsmanlike conduct but surprisingly escaping ejection.
If you were watching, you surely had some reactions. So did the media, current and former NFL players, the man who plays a famous fictional TV newscaster, and a model/actress.

If the Giants' Beckham, Jr. and Carolina's Norman were playing hockey, they'd have gone by now. #NFL— Jeff Daniels (@Jeff_Daniels) December 20, 2015

If the NFL really cares about player safety obj will be suspended.— Ron Jaworski (@jawsespn) December 20, 2015
After today's antics OBJ should be suspended a minimum of one game!— mark schlereth (@markschlereth) December 20, 2015
calling it now: it'll be years before beckham lives this game down. congrats, my man: you're next up on america's top diva receiver.— El Flaco (@bomani_jones) December 20, 2015
And, after the game:
Adrian Peterson didn't think that was a face mask penalty (and other social reaction to the Packers' crazy win)
The Thursday Night Football game between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions, well, it had a finish.
Aaron Rodgers hit Richard Rodgers for a 61-yard Hail Mary touchdown with zeroes on the clock, one play after a controversial face mask penalty extended the game after time had expired.
Oh, there was some social media reaction from the sports and celebrity world. Adrian Peterson, whose Minnesota Vikings would have benefited greatly from a Packers loss, shared his thoughts (and corrected his heat-of-the-moment mistake):
Lol, i'm sorry but a thumb hitting the face mask isn't pass interference! Heck of a play =— Adrian Peterson (@AdrianPeterson) December 4, 2015
I mean face-mask— Adrian Peterson (@AdrianPeterson) December 4, 2015
= Why all the hate, a brother can't speak his mind?! Guess what?! I forgive & love you still!— Adrian Peterson (@AdrianPeterson) December 4, 2015
A certain celebrity fan of the Green Bay Packers wasn't really bothered by the call:
I just lost my voice =š=›=š=1=š=›=1=1=1=1=1=1=1=1=1=M=J=O=O=O— oliviamunn (@oliviamunn) December 4, 2015
Two former Wisconsin basketball teammates were at odds over the call: the Houston Rockets' Sam Dekker, a Wisconsiner and Packers fan, and the Charlotte Hornets' Frank Kaminsky, a Chicagoland native and Chicago Bears fan:
I lost hope for a sec. was before the flag for face mask https://t.co/cuwGnaLMlp— Sam Dekker (@dekker) December 4, 2015
Yea... "Facemask" https://t.co/Mu5l5p0OxE— Frank Kaminsky III (@FSKPart3) December 4, 2015
Just in case all the people tweeting at me want to come back from LaLa Land and join the real world https://t.co/u3WRaLwq0U— Frank Kaminsky III (@FSKPart3) December 4, 2015
With all that being said I think Rodgers is the only QB that can make that last play. Unreal sequence.— Frank Kaminsky III (@FSKPart3) December 4, 2015
Others also didn't agree with the call, whether or not they were happy about it:
Definitely a phantom facemask. #GBvsDET— Brendon Ayanbadejo (@brendon310) December 4, 2015
Wow that was ridiculous!!!!! Justice serve for that no call on the PI!!!! #GopackGo— NickBarnett (@NickBarnett) December 4, 2015
Then there were the Lions fans:
Life of a Lions fan. #hailmary— Jalen Rose (@JalenRose) December 4, 2015

As a Lions fan this happens all the time. U get use to it after awhile......— Jason Richardson (@jrich23) December 4, 2015
And let's not forget the other Packers fans and/or people who were just blown away by the whole thing:
Go Pack go!!— Anthony Davis (@AntDavis23) December 4, 2015

The Dallas Cowboys are 2-5, but they've been missing some key players -- perhaps none more important than Tony Romo.
Does that mean the quarterback's return -- he's eligible to play Nov. 22 -- will make a big difference for Dallas? Despite their poor record, they are only 1.5 games behind the 4-4 New York Giants.
SportsNation hosts Marcellus Wiley and Max Kellerman discussed the issue on today's show. Now it's your turn to decide.
With the NBA preseason nearly done but still time to kill before the first official tipoff, NBA players are now turning their minds to the important questions.
Had this debate the other day in the locker room: Who wins a 40 yard dash between me and Peyton Manning???— Dirk Nowitzki (@swish41) October 23, 2015
Our money would be on the 37-year-old German, whose sport forces him to run more than the 39-year-old Denver Broncos quarterback.
And we just might get to find out! Or at least Chandler Parsons and Von Miller are trying to make it so:
That would be epic! Over/under 5.7? I got Peyton by 1.5yds lol= https://t.co/2fc227hDvQ— Von Miller (@Millerlite40) October 23, 2015
