Michael Vick's dogfighting saga is far from over, but authorities made progress today when he agreed to a plea agreement with federal prosecutors.
What remains to be seen are the consequences for Vick. His future in the league is in doubt, as even his strongest former supporter, Falcons owner Arthur Blank, has accused him of lying to the team and to the league. Vick remains a dynamic, exciting talent, although his on-field results make it hard to think of him as anything other than a below-average quarterback. Could another team decide to take a chance on him?
That could depend on how much time Vick spends in jail. Would any team want to take on the surrounding circus of a controversial QB who's been out of football for a season or more? Vick may play professional football again, but will it be in the NFL?
