In the past 15 years, winning overtime games in the NFL depended heavily on the toss of a coin; almost 60 percent of teams that got the ball first ended up victorious. It's not entirely surprising; when all you have to do to win the game is kick a field goal, your degree of difficulty is reduced significantly.
Now, the NFL's ownership is considering making a change to the NFL's overtime rules in the playoffs. A touchdown would end the game, but a field goal would give the other team a chance to strike back. Is this a good idea?
