Major League Baseball is ready to hand out its most prestigious awards, and there are some tight races among a normally clear-cut field.
The most contentious race is probably for AL Cy Young, as the choice between Felix Hernandez and CC Sabathia has ignited a new school versus old school debate. Sabathia has the wins, but Hernandez seems to have almost everything else. AL MVP is a difficult call, too. Josh Hamilton mashed for most of the year, but a rib injury left him with scant few appearances in September. Fans may go for the all-around brilliance of Robinson Cano or the unprecedented power of Jose Bautista.
In the National League, fans suffer from an embarrassment of riches in the Rookie of the Year ballot. Do you go with the next big five-tool player in Jason Heyward? A potential future batting champion at catcher in Buster Posey? The early-season brilliance of Jaime Garcia? It's a tough decision for sure, and the NL MVP choice (Albert Pujols, Joey Votto and Carloz Gonzalez) isn't much easier.
Jayson Stark has made some picks of his own, but where do you stand on the players he's listed? Cast your vote now!
