Back in 2004, before the Boston Red Sox Reversed the Curse, Manny Ramirez spent some time being Manny Ramirez.

It was July, in a seemingly forgettable home game against the Baltimore Orioles, and in the seventh inning Baltimore's David Newhan smashed a ball into center field (check out this blog for a full description). Johnny Damon gathered and threw toward shortstop Mark Bellhorn -- only to have Ramirez charge in from left field and inexplicably make a diving cutoff. What Manny was thinking, who knows, but it made for an inside-the-park home run and one legendary clip (view it here).

Fast forward to Wednesday, when the '04 Sox reunited at Fenway Park to celebrate the team that famously stormed back from 3-0 down to the New York Yankees and went on to win the franchise's first World Series in 86 years. There, Ramirez stepped up to throw out the ceremonial first pitch ... only to have it intercepted by, well, who else?
