The second half is about to kick off for the American League, and it looks like a two-team race for the pennant. The Rangers and Yankees are dominating their divisions, although they could face stiff challenges from the White Sox and the surging Angels. It's bound to be an interesting wild-card race, and if the Red Sox and Tigers start coming on, we could see the divisional races heat up as well.
The Yankees increased their lead in the East, although they shouldn't rest easy just yet. There are no teams below .500 in baseball's toughest division.
The Tigers were supposed to be the team to beat in the Central, but the White Sox, with recent addition Kevin Youkilis, are putting paid to that notion.
The Rangers seemed to be running away with the West, but a revamped Angels team could make things interesting down the stretch.
