Michael Vick has been awfully good for the Eagles, but he's developed an unfortunate case of fragility in the past year or so. Vick was injured for the second straight preseason game, and although X-rays on his ribs were negative, this can't be a good sign for the Eagles. Vick is guaranteed $40 million of a $100 million, six-year contract, but if he keeps going at his current rate, he might not finish out that deal. In the short term, an injury to Vick could put the Eagles' plans of winning the NFC East in serious jeopardy.
Too much time and money?
Vick's big contract reflects how much the organization values him, but if he goes down to injury, it would leave the Eagles with very little roster flexibility.
Worried for this season?
The Eagles had high hopes for last season, but Vick's injury kept them out of the playoffs.
