West Virginia's Geno Smith is probably going to be a high draft pick, but at least one scout claims that Smith's NFL future is bleak. Smith defended himself against a Pro Football Weekly scouting report that called him a "gimmick" who is "not a student of the game." The scout, Nolan Nawrocki, had a similarly dim view of Cam Newton before the 2011 NFL draft, and Newton has proved so far that he can stick in the league. Is the scout's analysis of Smith also off-base?
