Inbee Park is having a year that could match only Babe Didrikson Zaharias among women's golfers. Park has won the first three majors of 2013 and will attempt to complete a Grand Slam by winning the Ricoh Women's British Open this week at St. Andrews. Park has a unique opportunity as well -- with the addition of a fifth major (the Evian Championship) this year, she theoretically could be the only golfer ever to win five majors in a single year. Whether we'd call that a Grand Slam will have to wait until this week's tournament is completed.
British Open Champ?
Park won two of her majors this year by four strokes, but had to go to a playoff with Catriona Matthew in order to win the LPGA Championship.
Four or five for a Grand Slam?
The whole idea behind a Grand Slam is that the golfer totally dominates the year's major championships, but should a fifth one be taken into account this year?
Parity is nice, but fans tend to be more attentive to golf when it is dominated by a single player -- i.e., Tiger Woods.
