Rank 'Em: World Series champions

Created: November 4, 2009, 9:25 PM

Are the Yankees No. 1?

Which team is the best champion of the last 26 years?

The Yankees extended their own unmatched dominance in professional sports with championship No. 27 this season, but where does this year's edition rank in the list of the last 25 World Series champions?

Mainstays like Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera remain from the last run of titles for the Bronx Bombers nearly a decade ago, but new faces like Alex Rodriguez, CC Sabathia and Mark Teixeira (not to mention the old face in a new place in manager Joe Girardi) distinguish these Yankees.

Below you'll find the last 25 World Series champions (spread over 26 years, thanks to that lost October in 1994). Size up the field of champions and put these Yankees in their place.

To submit your ballot, you must rank at least five teams.
