The NBA Finals are set. And, despite all the drama leading up to them, we have the matchup many of us expected:
Golden State Warriors vs. Cleveland Cavaliers.
Now we ask ...
The Warriors beat the Cavaliers in the 2015 NBA Finals and won a record 73 games this season, but had the tougher road through their conference; Golden State beat the Houston Rockets and Portland Trail Blazers in five games each, then fell behind the Oklahoma City Thunder 3-1 before roaring back for the win. Cleveland swept its first two series and rolled to a 2-0 lead against the Toronto Raptors; the Raptors won two straight home games to even things up, but a pair of Cavaliers blowouts put them in the Finals.
Last season the Warriors won the Finals in six games, but the Cavaliers were without Kevin Love the whole series and Kyrie Irving for all but one game.
