Eamonn Brennan released his latest Bubble Watch on Friday ahead of a critical weekend in college basketball.
The stakes are especially high for bubble teams. In the ACC, Syracuse can gain even more momentum with a win at No. 7 Louisville. Pittsburgh, Clemson and Georgia Tech can also make major statements against ranked opponents.
In the Big Ten, Michigan and Michigan State have huge opportunities on their home courts. Indiana -- booted from Bubble Watch -- is desperate for a win to get back into the conversation. In Big 12 action, TCU (6-9 in league play) hosts No. 12 West Virginia. Meanwhile, Iowa State "should be in," according to Brennan, but can pad its résumé with a win over No. 9 Baylor.
What do you think? Which bubble team can make the biggest statement this weekend?
The Big East might feature the best matchup of two separate bubble teams. Providence, after knocking off No. 23 Creighton on Wednesday, will host Marquette on Saturday. According to Brennan, both the Friars and Golden Eagles have work to do.
Those aren't the only critical games on the bubble this weekend. In the SEC, Tennessee could use a win over South Carolina. Also, don't sleep on Texas Tech (at Oklahoma State), Houston (at Memphis) and Rhode Island (vs. VCU).
