The NHL regular season has come to a close, and beginning Wednesday, 16 teams will battle on the ice in the Stanley Cup playoffs.
In the Eastern Conference, the reigning Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins face the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Toronto Maple Leafs, making their first playoff appearance in four years, play the Capitals. The Montreal Canadiens face the New York Rangers in an Original Six matchup, and the Ottawa Senators take on the Boston Bruins.
Now it's your turn to pick which Eastern Conference teams will advance to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs:
But wait ... we're not done yet.
Last year's Western Conference champs, the San Jose Sharks, face the Edmonton Oilers, who are making their first playoff appearance since losing in the Stanley Cup finals in 2006. The Chicago Blackhawks, the West's top team, take on the Nashville Predators. The Anaheim Ducks, division champions for the fifth straight year, play the Calgary Flames, who are making their first playoff appearance since 2007, while the Minnesota Wild face the St. Louis Blues.
ESPN's hockey writers crafted a viewing guide for the Western Conference playoffs and made their picks for the winner of each Western Conference first-round series: Sharks vs. Oilers, Blackhawks vs. Predators, Ducks vs. Flames and Wild vs. Blues.
Once again, it's your turn to pick which teams you think will advance to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs, this time from the Western Conference.
The Stanley Cup finals are set to take place in June.
