The Seahawks are a team on the rise, evidenced in part by their 28-spot overall jump from last year. After four straight losing seasons, they won 11 games last season and held a lead in the final minute of the NFC divisional playoffs. A win would have sent them to the NFC championship game. In Russell Wilson, they finally appear to have a franchise quarterback. They also boast one of the deepest and most talented rosters in the league and play in a beautiful stadium people rave about. (The team paid homage to the fans in 1984 by retiring the No. 12, with a flag, in honor of the 12th man.)

The stadium has gotten so loud that it once reached 112 decibels. For perspective, a jet flyover at 1,000 feet is 103 decibels. A Seahawks fan group called Volume 12 (yep, the 12th man) had applied to Guinness World Records to have the noise measured for the home opener against the archrival 49ers on Sept. 15. The current record, from fans of a Turkish soccer team, reached 131.76 two years ago. If the Seahawks break the record in the regular season, imagine what it would be like in the playoffs. It should certainly be loud enough to drown out the complaints about prices (70th in affordability).
