Blame it on the Texas heat. How else to explain Stars fans awarding a 44 ranking in title track to a club that's missed the postseason a franchise-record five straight years? Then again, making the playoffs 12 times in 14 seasons before that (including a championship) carries oodles of equity. The biggest blemish on Big D's CV? A triple-digit figure in the coaching category that likely would've been better had new GM Jim Nill hired Lindy Ruff before our data was collected (although not much better -- first option Alain Vigneault ended up in New York, and Dallas diehards still remember Ruff as the losing coach who whined after Brett Hull's infamous triple OT foot-in-the crease Cup clincher back in '99). Even though Stars fans have the league's cheapest ticket prices, they're not happy (affordability rank is 69, down 35 spots from last year) about a 21 percent hike (up to $36.09 from $29.95) that has them reaching a little deeper into their pockets. Looks like the heat wave may be over.
