A dominant performance in Super Bowl XLVIII deserved similar acclaim in the Cross-Sport Power Rankings. So it's fitting that the Seattle Seahawks placed three players in the top five this week, led by Super Bowl MVP Malcolm Smith.
Joining Smith, whose 69-yard interception return for a touchdown gave Seattle a 22-0 lead, are safety Kam Chancellor and quarterback Russell Wilson, each of whom contributed greatly to the Seahawks' first NFL championship. Chancellor's hitting set the tone early and his interception set up Seattle's first touchdown. And Wilson hardly looked like a second-year player in directing the offense.
Joining those three Seahawks in the top five are Kevin Durant, who remains the NBA's most unstoppable player, and Syracuse's C.J. Fair, who helped the Orange outlast Duke and remain undefeated.
The Cross-Sport Power Rankings week runs from Tuesday to Monday, covering all sporting events in that seven-day span.
