"Madden NFL 10": Brady's back big

Why should you listen to anything a video game has to tell you about real-life sports? How about the fact that "Madden NFL 09" simulated Super Bowl XLIII to within one point of the actual score, even predicting with uncanny accuracy the exact number of receiving yards MVP Santonio Holmes would accumulate in the game.

So what does "Madden NFL 10" predict for the upcoming season?

Look for Tom Brady to make his triumphant return to the gridiron, winning both the NFL MVP and Offensive Player of the Year awards as he leads the New England Patriots back to the top of the league with a 14-2 record. Brady threw for more than 4,500 yards and 47 touchdowns in the simulation that also saw the Pittsburgh Steelers, Tennessee Titans and San Diego Chargers win their divisions, with the Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens capturing the AFC wild-card spots.

In the NFC, the Philadelphia Eagles won the NFC East with a 12-4 record, and Andy Reid took home NFL Coach of the Year. Meanwhile, the Chicago Bears, Arizona Cardinals and Atlanta Falcons also won their respective divisions, with the New York Giants and Carolina Panthers earning their way into the postseason via the NFC wild card.

While the official EA Sports simulation dealt with only the regular season, when ESPN simulated the upcoming season five times using the PlayStation 3, the Patriots won the Super Bowl all five times.

Looks as though we could be in for another season of dominance from Brady and Randy Moss, both inside "Madden" and on the actual field.
