An incredible fourth quarter from center Teaira McCowan helped Mississippi State rally from a two-point deficit after three quarters to beat Washington 75-64 for a spot in the Elite Eight. McCowan had 20 points, seven boards and four blocks in the final period alone and finished with 26, 13 and five for the game. Kelsey Plum had 29 points for the Huskies in her final college game. Safe to say Irish will add to it, but Notre Dame's 93 points so far matches its most ever in Sweet 16 or later rounds.

Mississippi State WBB center Teaira McCowan scored 16 consecutive points at the start of the 4th quarter. Holy moly. Bulldogs up 66-58.

Kelsey Mitchell still looking for first FT attempt. Has gone without one just three times this season.

Attendance a somewhat painful 3148 in Lexington. Obviously doesn't help that in addition to UK women not being here, men play on tv in about an hour.

Notre Dame scored 84 points in the Sweet 16 last year and lost. Taking no chances this time. 80 points after three quarters and leads Ohio State by 15 points.

Just as they did in the first quarter, the Huskies dominated the third, turning an eight-point halftime deficit into a three-point lead heading to the fourth. To reach the Elite Eight, Washington has to withstand Mississippi State's fresher starters.

Vintage Kelsey Plum drive to the basket puts Washington back in the lead, followed by Natalie Romeo 3-pointer. UW up 50-46.

Great response after halftime from the Huskies, who have cut Mississippi State's lead to two behind eight points from Kelsey Plum in five minutes. State coach Vic Schaefer has gone to his usual starters earlier this half, but we still have yet to see leading scorer Victoria Vivians.

Mechelle Voepel @MechelleV

Victoria Vivians checking into game at 4:38 mark of 3rd quarter. Mississippi State leads 44-42. UW's Kelsey Plum has 8 points in this qrt.

Mechelle Voepel @MechelleV

Considering how well Victoria Vivians played in the 2nd quarter, just how long does Vic Schaefer want to sit her now?

This weekend was supposed to be Makayla Epps' farewell to the state, but it might mark the arrival of Kentucky native Erin Boley for ND.

Mississippi State WBB begins second half with same starters as beginning of game. How quickly will the "subs" start coming in?
