No. 1 UConn will be without All-American Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis for three to five weeks after doctors re-examined the nerve contusion in her right elbow, the Huskies announced Tuesday.
"After the initial evaluation, I was pretty much resigned that it was going to be a month," coach Geno Auriemma told reporters after practice Tuesday. "If it is three [weeks], it's great. If it's five, it is whatever it is, just as long as Kaleena is making progress. That is pretty much the best we can [hope for]."
Mosqueda-Lewis suffered the injury when she took a hard fall while coming down with a rebound during UConn's 76-57 win against No. 3 Stanford on Nov. 11.
The Huskies (4-0) play Oregon (2-1) on Wednesday night in Hartford, Conn.
