Former Tennessee guard Diamond DeShields to play in Turkey

Former Tennessee Volunteer guard Diamond DeShields says she'll play professionally in Turkey.

DeShields made the announcement on her Instagram account and said she'll be joining Cukurova basketball.

Tennessee announced in June that DeShields was leaving the school to pursue to play professionally. DeShields, a redshirt junior who transferred from North Carolina, graduated from Tennessee.

The 6-foot-1 DeShields led Tennessee in scoring with 17.4 points per game last season. The Lady Vols lost in the second round of the NCAA tournament after losing their Southeastern Conference tournament opener.

She is the daughter of former Major Leaguer Delino DeShields.
