LOS ANGELES -- Connecticut and Notre Dame each landed three players among the 30 women on the John R. Wooden Award's preseason list.
UConn's Tiffany Hayes, Stefanie Dolson and Bria Hartley and Notre Dame's Skylar Diggins, Natalie Novosel and Devereaux Peters were selected for the list, which was chosen by a poll of national college women's basketball media voters.
Tennessee (Shekinna Stricklen, Glory Johnson), Baylor (Brittney Griner, Odyssey Sims), Maryland (Lynetta Kizer, Alyssa Thomas), Miami (Shenise Johnson, Riquna Williams) and Stanford (Nnemkadi Ogwumike, Chiney Ogwumike) each had two players named on the list.
The Big East led all conferences with nine selections, followed by the ACC (six), the Big 12 (four) and the SEC and Big Ten (three apiece).
The women's Wooden Award winner will be named April 6, 2012.
