The 31st edition of the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view takes place Sunday, Jan. 28, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. It's the third time that the Royal Rumble has taken place at the Wells Fargo Center (formerly the Wachovia Center), after visits in 2015 and 2004.

The first WWE pay-per-view of the year features the annual Royal Rumble match, with the winner set to receive a guaranteed world championship match at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans, Louisiana, and for the first time ever, there will be a women's Royal Rumble match with the same prize.

Here's what we know about the show so far.
