'Skate on Film' chronicles videos

Go inside the making of a proper skateboarding video part, featuring commentary from Jerry Hsu, Tony Hawk, Matt Hensley, Andrew Reynolds and more.

On Wednesday night, June 27, the world of skatboarding converged on the LA Live Regal Cinema to watch the premiere of 900 Productions' "Skate on Film." The 20-minute film chronicles the influence that the video part has had on the skateboarding industry through current skater and filmmaker interviews along with footage from the most popular and respected videos of all time, ranging from Stacy Peralta's "The Bones Brigade Video Show" (1984), to Element's "Rise and Shine" (2011). Skate on Film combines in-depth interviews with industry greats, such as Andrew Reynolds, Matt Hensley, Heath Kirchart and Nyjah Huston, to name a few.

As the doors opened, a who's who of skate royalty flooded the red carpet in anticipation of seeing their lives on film. From Tony Hawk to Danny Way, and even BMX legend Mat Hoffman and Dennis McCoy, it was a time to shine for the skate cinematographers, too.
