As winter quickly approaches, it's time to store those tank tops away and search for warmer options. Fortunately, if you're a BMXer, a number of BMX brands offer clothing that's suited for the colder parts of the year, including Animal, Fit Bike Co., Subrosa, Fox and The Shadow Conspiracy.
The Shadow Conspiracy has been manufacturing clothing alongside their component range since the brand started over a decade ago, and their new 2012 collection is their most complete and focused collection to date. They now offer jeans that are U.S. made, along with jackets, hoodies, beanies, belts, socks, wallets, backpacks, accessories and button-up shirts, such as the stylish new Crossbones button-up.
WHAT IT IS:
The Crossbones button-up is long sleeve shirt, constructed of a cotton/polyester blend to reduce wrinkling, which is then stone and enzyme-washed to give it a softer feel. The shirt features woven Shadow Conspiracy labels and dual chest pockets with button closures.
WHY IT RULES:
The good folks behind The Shadow Conspiracy know a thing or two about clothing for BMXers. Before TSC took off, Ron Bonner of TSC fronted one of the premiere clothing brands in BMX, Underground Products (UGP). UGP's clothing line was second to none in BMX for over a decade, and Bonner has taken that knowledge and applied it to The Shadow Conspiracy's clothing line. Right out of the package I noticed the shirt wasn't just any other button-up long sleeve. Being a taller, leaner person (like most riders), I was skeptical of how it would fit. Fortunately, the Crossbones button-up felt great in both the length of the arms and the bottom of the shirt. It wasn't too baggy either. The only thing I would recommend doing, is ordering a size up. The Crossbones button-up runs a little on the small side.
