White, Anderson take home ESPYS

Shaun White took his fifth-straight ESPY Award for Best Male Action Sports Athlete, and Jamie Anderson won for Best Female Action Sports Athlete at the annual gala event Wednesday night at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, Calif.

White has won the ESPY's fan-voted award six times since 2003, including every year since 2008. White's win this year was earned after scoring a five-peat and a perfect score in Winter X Games Snowboard SuperPipe in Aspen last January. He beat out snowboarder Travis Rice, surfer Kelly Slater and motocross sensation Ryan Villopoto for the ESPY.

Anderson won gold at both Winter X Games Aspen and Winter X Games Tignes in Women's Snowboard Slopestyle, then went on to repeat her title in the same event on both the Burton Global Open Series and the TTR World Snowboard Tour. She bested three other nominees including snowboarder Kelly Clark, skier Kaya Turski and surfer Carissa Moore.

In all, the ESPYS delivered over 30 awards in the ceremony that is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Check out all the award-winners here.
