Tuesday marks the end of round one of the X Games 2012 Real Street contests. Last Tuesday, 16 professional skateboarders each submitted a one-minute video part to be judged by the fans and a selection of skateboard magazine editors. Going head-to-head in a tournament style bracket, the 16 skaters will end in two that will win an X Games gold medal and $50,000, decided by the fans and the judges. Can someone sweep both the fan favorite and judged events and walk away with $100,000? Could there be a tie? Could Tony Hawk win even though he's not entered?
The answers to these questions and more are right around the corner as the voting continues and the next round gears up to get down. The eight skateboarders that made the cut are: Bobby Worrest, Aaron Homoki, Taylor Bingaman, Manny Santiago, Collin Provost, Chad Tim Tim, Nyjah Huston and Chris Haslam. So go to the brackets, watch the videos, cast your vote and stay tuned to ESPN2, July 1 at 9 p.m. when Sal Masekela and Tony Hawk announce the winners live on air.
