App Collaboration Ad
ESPN (INTL)Overview
The Collaboration Ad is a special ad format using a sponsored HTML5 card to promote content designed to fit seamlessly within the ESPN App's mobile interface. There are three options for the Collaboration Ad: Article, Video, or Image.
- Required assets differ based on the version that is selected.
- Advertiser branding is formatted to match ESPN content and appears in-stream.
- The Collaboration Ad must be built in-house by ESPN; third-party serving is not supported.

* Double density creative are highly recommended for all mobile creative to provide image clarity on high-resolution screens. See our guidelines on double density.
Design
- Images/designs not created by ESPN may be submitted, but are subject to editorial approval and may require revisions.
- Designs should use photos or artwork to relate to content. Creative cannot have a transparent background.
- The logo image will be placed at the top of the module.
- Sponsor name must be 20 characters or less.
- Headline text must be 50 characters or less.
- Subtext must be 120 characters or less.
Animation/Ad Behavior
- Animation is not accepted.
- The Collaboration Ad will serve to the 8th slot of the page.
- Please note: iOS users with devices set to mute/vibrate will not receive ad audio for the video version of the Collaboration Ad.
Capping
No capping restrictions.
Video
- Video playback is user-initiated only on click/tap.
- For the video option, raw assets of larger file size and dimensions may be submitted. These assets will be re-encoded to spec.
- Raw assets may be MP4 or MOV format, but must be 16:9 aspect ratio
Submission Deadline
Please allow five business days for testing and approval.
Restrictions
- This ad unit must be created in-house by ESPN.
- Currently, video starts and quartiles are not available within the ESPN App.
HTTPS Compatibility
- All creative, including third-party tags and third-party tracking tags, must use secure protocol (HTTPS).
- Any creative that is not fully secure will be sent back for revisions.
