The Banner Expand is a Premium ad unit that appears prominently just under the site navigation that can expand in dimension.

  • The Banner Expand space may contain video (3P serving), HTML5 animation, and static images.
  • HTML5 Expand Banners must be third-party served by an approved vendor.

Animation/Ad Behavior
  • The ad will auto-expand on first view for 8 seconds before auto-closing.
  • Expansion direction is downward and must push the page content, not overlay.
  • User-initiated expansion must occur on click and may remain open without auto-collapse.
  • The collapsed state may have up to 20 seconds of animation with no more than three loops within that limit.
Capping
Auto-expand must be capped at one time per user per day.
Video
  • Creative with in-banner video must be third-party served.
  • Auto-play video cannot utilize YouTube's embedded player.
  • Video in the auto-expand must not exceed the 8-second expand time and is limited to 1.1MB.
  • User-initiated video must not exceed 20MB.
  • Video files must include "Play", "Pause", and "Mute" functions at minimum.
  • Audio must be user-initiated only on click.
  • Video file weights are for video only, separate from the rest of the creative.
Third-Party Tag
HTML5 Banner Expands must be served by an approved third-party vendor.
Submission Deadline
Please allow five business days for testing and approval.
HTTPS Compatibility
  • All creative, including third-party tags and third-party tracking tags, must use secure protocol (HTTPS).
  • Any creative that is not fully secure will be sent back for revisions.
  • HTML5 creative must be third-party served from an approved third-party vendor.
  • HTML5 creative served via an approved third-party must delivered via javascript or iframe tag. Raw files will not be accepted.
  • The file weight above applies to all HTML5 files and assets including images, HTML/JS/CSS files, custom fonts, or other assets.
  • HTML5 creative requires a minimum lead time of five business days for testing and approval.
