Sonny Bill Williams to fight Barry Hall

Sonny Bill Williams will take on former AFL star Barry Hall in a boxing contest on March 23, 2022, at the International Convention Centre in Sydney.

The retired dual international sports star will undertake an intense fitness regime under the guidance of Tyson Fury's team in London, before stepping into the ring against Hall.

"My focus on winning this fight begins with a phenomenal opportunity to join the world's biggest name in boxing, Tyson Fury, at his training camp in the UK immediately, to ensure I am 100 percent prepared for this fight.

"I know Barry Hall is a very hard man and his debut proved he has a ton of skill, but he is inexperienced in the ring and nowhere near my class level.

"This fight against Hall starts the last chapter of my sporting career and I will take this win and move on to further big fights over the next 24-36 months."

Williams, who has not fought since June last year, boasts an impressive 8-0 record, including three knockouts.

"For the first time in my professional sporting career, I am fully concentrating on boxing," Williams said.

Williams and Hall will contest ten 3-minute rounds on a night which will feature an extensive undercard, with at least five professional bouts in the lead up to the main event.
