Syracuse's Dino Babers wishes Jim Brown happy birthday, ranks movies

New Syracuse coach Dino Babers knows his new employer’s history -- and in pretty impressive depth, too.

Not only did Babers wish a happy birthday to former Syracuse football and lacrosse great Jim Brown, who the first-year Cuse coach labeled the GOAT (the “greatest of all time” for anyone lagging behind in Twitter-era slang), Babers also named his top-five movies featuring Brown.

Brown, who turned 80 on Wednesday, retired from the NFL in 1965 and began a long career as an actor. His IMDb page lists 55 acting credits for Brown, so there were plenty of films to choose from for Babers, a self-proclaimed #MovieBuff.

It’s hard to argue with Babers’ No. 1, as “The Running Man” is also among Arnold Schwarzenegger’s top movies.

Personally, I’d have included Brown’s role in “Mars Attacks!” when he dresses as a pharaoh somewhere in the top group, but I can understand the omission. Stopping Isaac Hayes from beating Chris Rock in “I'm Gonna Git You Sucka” was another solid role for Brown, as was voicing one of the miniature militia members in “Small Soldiers.”

Happy birthday, Jim Brown. And, Dino, the ACC blog looks forward to breaking down future movie top fives.
