Rex Ryan says Tom Brady a propped up QB

After the season Tom Brady turned in for the New England Patriots, there's little debate who should be the MVP.

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan still views Peyton Manning as the ultimate quarterback.

In discussing what makes Manning so great, Ryan suggested the Indianapolis Colts star is self-made, whereas Brady is buoyed by Bill Belichick.

"Nobody studies like him," Ryan said of Manning. "I know Brady thinks he does and all that stuff. I think there's probably a little more help from Belichick with Brady than there is with Peyton Manning.

"He's not just a coach on the field. You give the coaching community too much credit. This guy is one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the game, and he's one of the smartest guys. And it's not just a coach dialing up plays. He dials his own plays."

The Jets will play the Colts in the first round of the playoffs Saturday night at Lucas Oil Stadium. If the Jets win, then they will visit the top-seeded Patriots next week in Foxborough, Mass.
