In July, the AFC East blog highlighted several players who needed successful seasons to avoid the “bust” label.
As we approach the midpoint of the season, let’s take a look at a defensive lineman for the Buffalo Bills.
Updated Bust Watch: Defensive tackle Torell Troup
Pick: Second round, 2010
Analysis: Troup had a promising rookie year, but it's been downhill since. The defensive tackle simply cannot stay healthy, and that was again the case this season. The former second-round pick was put on injured reserve in August with a back injury. He had an easy job this year backing up Kyle Williams and Marcell Dareus. Troup's projected role was to provide both starters a breather and play in limited snaps. Maybe things would have been different for Troup if he stayed healthy. But after three seasons, it’s safe to officially label Troup a draft bust.
