In non-Black Monday news, it was not a banner week for AFC East quarterbacks in the regular-season finale. Other than New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, the quarterbacks struggled.
Brady lead the AFC East once again with a 65.0 Total Quarterback Rating. Brady threw for 284 yards and two touchdowns in a 28-0 victory over the Miami Dolphins.
Here is the Total QBR for the entire AFC East:
No. 1: Brady, Patriots, 65.0
No. 2: Ryan Fitzpatrick, Buffalo Bills, 58.1
No. 3: Ryan Tannehill, Dolphins, 19.8
No. 4: Mark Sanchez, New York Jets, 9.3
Fitzpatrick was the other winning quarterback in the division. He beat the Jets, 28-9, and threw for 225 yards and a touchdown in what could be Fitzpatrick’s final game in Buffalo.
Tannehill struggled against New England and was under immense pressure. He was sacked a season-high seven times. Sanchez looked completely lost and seemed to have no confidence in what he was doing. He threw for 205 yards and had two turnovers (one interception, one fumble).
