Each week, a team of 10 ESPN Stats & Information staffers watch every play of every NFL game and analyze each target.
They've compiled a list of dropped passes through Week 8 and found Buffalo Bills receiver Terrell Owens leads the league with nine. Owens
Ginn
The only other AFC East player in the top 10 was Miami Dolphins kick returner Ted Ginn, who lost his job as a starting receiver because he flubbed too many passes. Ginn is tied for fifth with five drops.
No surprise, then, that Owens and Ginn rank among the worst 12 in catch percentage (the number of catches divided by the number of times thrown to) for receivers with at least 20 targets.
Buffalo has thrown at Owens 50 times for 23 receptions (46 percent). Miami has thrown to Ginn 40 times for 18 receptions (45 percent).
But here's an interesting note that illustrates how important Dolphins coach Tony Sparano used to think Ginn was to the offense:
Even though Ginn had one target in Sunday's victory over the Jets, and the Dolphins already have gone through their bye week, he still ranks third in fourth-quarter targets with 19. Only New York Giants receiver Steve Smith and Arizona Cardinals star Larry Fitzgerald have been thrown to more often at the end of a game.
