Report: Bills sign DT Alan Branch

The Buffalo Bills reached a one-year, $3 million agreement with former Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Alan Branch, according to Jason LaCanfora of CBSSports.com reports. Branch will provide immediate depth and size to a talented rotation that already includes Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kyle Williams and former first-round pick Marcell Dareus.

Branch started all 16 games for Seattle last season and recorded 29 tackles and one sack. He is a durable player who only missed one game the past three seasons.

Buffalo's defense last year was a major disappointment, primarily due to its porous run defense. The Bills were 31st in the NFL versus the run in 2012, allowing 145.8 yards per game. The Bills expect to run a mix of 3-4 and 4-3 defenses next season under new defensive coordinator Mike Pettine.
