Rex Ryan: Bills sign QB Tyrod Taylor

The Buffalo Bills have signed quarterback Tyrod Taylor, coach Rex Ryan announced Thursday morning during a radio appearance in Canada.

Ryan was asked a general question about his quarterbacks when he mentioned Taylor's signing.

"No, I don't think you're worried it. I mean, hey, we don't have Tom Brady. We all recognize that," Ryan said on Toronto's SportsNet 590. "But we have some guys, I think -- now with the addition of Matt Cassel, we just signed Tyrod Taylor and EJ Manuel -- we have three guys that, we'll see what happens."

Taylor visited with the Bills Wednesday, a source said, but the Bills did not announce the visit and have not announced Taylor's signing.

The 2011 sixth-round pick served as Joe Flacco's backup for the Baltimore Ravens the past four seasons.

Ryan has been pursuing Taylor since he was coaching the New York Jets.

“I actually tried to trade for [Taylor] when I was with the Jets,” Ryan said. “If he’s not the fastest quarterback in the league, he’s certainly up there with them. He’s got great run skills. I’m not gonna say he’s Russell Wilson, but he’s got a little of that in him, where he’s able to run zone reads and pull the ball down and be effective.”
