Dolphins players traveling to recruit La'el Collins

Multiple Miami Dolphins players are flying to Baton Rouge Tuesday to recruit former LSU player La’el Collins to join the team.

Dolphins defensive tackle and former college teammate Anthony Johnson posted this photo on his Twitter and Instagram accounts to confirm the trip.

Other players who are going to Louisiana include Dolphins captain and Pro Bowl center Mike Pouncey and receiver Jarvis Landry, who also is a former college teammate of Collins.

Collins would be a solid fit in Miami, which lacks quality guards. The Dolphins drafted Jamil Douglas in the fourth round in hopes of filling that need. However, Collins was a projected first-round pick until recent legal issues caused him to go undrafted.

Police questioned Collins this week about the shooting death of a pregnant woman police believe is an ex-girlfriend of Collins. Police have said Collins is not a suspect.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan met with Collins this week.
