Patriots claim G Harland Gunn on waivers from Falcons

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots have claimed second-year guard Harland Gunn on waivers from the Atlanta Falcons, ESPN NFL Insider Field Yates reports.

Gunn, who entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Miami in 2012, appeared in 13 games for the Falcons over the last two seasons.

The 25-year-old Gunn (6-foot-2, 310 pounds) was waived by Atlanta on Saturday.

The Patriots' depth along the offensive line was thinned when reserve offensive tackle Kevin Hughes appeared to injure his left shoulder Saturday and didn't practice Sunday. That led to a shift in which Jordan Devey moved from guard to tackle.
