With three second-round bullets in their draft bandolier, some might wonder why the New England Patriots didn't make a bid for Brandon Marshall.
Marshall
MossAfter all, the Patriots reportedly went after Anquan Boldin before the Arizona Cardinals dealt him to the Baltimore Ravens.
ESPN analyst Tim Hasselbeck theorizes Patriots coach Bill Belichick knew everything he needed to know about Marshall through his protégé, Denver Broncos coach Josh McDaniels.
"You must assume that the relationship between Josh McDaniels and Bill Belichick was one of the reasons that didn't happen," Hasselbeck said. "I'm sure McDaniels would have told Belichick that Marshall was nothing but a headache.
"You also have to assume that the Patriots wouldn't want to take on the contract demands of Brandon Marshall. You factor that in with the off-the-field trouble Marshall's been in, and that's why Brandon Marshall's a Miami Dolphin and not a New England Patriot."
But could you imagine?
