Source: Matthews has workout for Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens continue to show significant interest in Oregon middle linebacker Casey Matthews. The Ravens are holding a private workout for Matthews on Wednesday, the AFC North blog has learned.

Baltimore will put Matthews through team-specific drills and get an up-close look at the middle linebacker. The Ravens are putting a strong effort into finding a pupil and possible successor to future Hall of Famer Ray Lewis in this draft. Lewis will be 36 in May and is entering his 16th season.

Matthews recorded 73 tackles, three sacks and three interceptions for the Ducks last season. He is getting a lot of pre-draft attention, in part, due to the success of his brother: Clay Matthews Jr. of the Green Bay Packers.

Casey Matthews is projected to be a second- or third-round pick and previously met with the Ravens at the NFL combine.
