Could Foxworth be done with Ravens?

The Ravens announced they've placed cornerback Domonique Foxworth on injured reserve and re-signed linebacker Prescott Burgess on Wednesday.

FoxworthFoxworthThis could signal the end of Foxworth's disappointing run with the Ravens. He is scheduled to make $5.6 million in 2012, the final year of his contract. It's unlikely that the Ravens would bring him back at that price.

Foxworth, who played a major role with the players union during the lockout, didn't show any confidence in his surgically repaired knee this year. He suffered the season-ending knee injury just before the start of training camp in 2010. Foxworth, who is making $4.4 million this season, was inactive last Sunday in St. Louis.

With Foxworth struggling to fully recover, the Ravens have gone with Cary Williams and Lardarius Webb as starters at cornerback.

Foxworth was one of the Ravens' biggest free-agent additions in 2009, when he signed a four-year, $27.2 million contract (which included a $4 million signing bonus). The Ravens, though, have gotten just one season out of Foxworth, who had a strong finish to the 2009 season.

The Ravens addressed cornerback in this past draft, using their first-round pick on Jimmy Smith and a fifth-rounder on Chykie Brown.
