The Cleveland Browns confirmed that Jon Sandusky, the team's director of player personnel, remains with the team, according to The Cleveland Plain Dealer. The paper reported late Monday that Sandusky had taken a leave of absence amid the scandal at Penn State involving his father.
Jerry Sandusky is the former Penn State coach accused of sexually abusing eight children over a 15-year period.
Jon Sandusky was not available for comment and hopes his privacy will be respected, a Browns spokesman told the Akron Beacon-Journal. Jon Sandusky is in his second year with the Browns after spending nine seasons on the personnel staff of the Philadelphia Eagles.
When asked if he has had a chance to talk to Jon Sandusky, Browns coach Pat Shurmur declined to comment at his Monday news conference. “That’s a totally personal deal,” Shurmur said. “I don’t know the details of any of that. I’m going to sit that one out.”
