With Edwards hurt too, Bouman in picture

The Jaguars, who didn’t have a third quarterback on the roster Monday night when they lost to Tennessee, could be looking at a third quarterback in the huddle Sunday in Kansas City.

Jack Del Rio revealed on SIRIUS NFL Radio that not only does David Garrard have a concussion, but Trent Edwards had a thumb injury.

Pat Kirwan: “So Trent [Edwards] gets all the reps this week because the week starts right now, really? So he’s got to be out there taking them and that’s going to help him in his readiness to get ready if, in fact, he has to go.”

Jack Del Rio: “Well, you know, uh, maybe not. I hate to be breaking things right now but there’s a chance, you know, he’s got a little bit of a thumb issue that could be problematic. So Todd Bouman will be back and potentially another quarterback in the mix as well. We’re just a little banged up right now at that position. David’s obviously not going to be working tomorrow and there’s a question mark whether Trent will be able to go tomorrow.”

With Bouman or Edwards, the Jaguars have to try to do more to establish Maurice Jones-Drew. Nine touches in the first half like he had against the Titans is probably not the route to success at a place like Arrowhead Stadium.
