JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- With running back T.J. Yeldon's availability in question because of a knee sprain, the Jacksonville Jaguars signed Jonas Gray off the Miami Dolphins' practice squad Tuesday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter via Gray's agent Sean Stellato.

The second-year player from Notre Dame has run for 534 yards and five touchdowns in 14 games with New England and Miami. Nearly half of that total came against Indianapolis while he was with the Patriots in 2014. Gray ran for 201 yards and four touchdowns in New England's 42-20 victory. However, Gray overslept and missed a practice five days later and carried the ball just 20 more times that season.

If Yeldon is unable to play in Sunday's home game against Atlanta, Denard Robinson would step in as the starter with Gray and Joe Banyard, a third-year player from UTEP, as the Jaguars' other options.

Yeldon leads the Jaguars in rushing (740 yards) and is the third-leading receiver (36 catches).
