Report: Gates and Floyd are out

Kara Henderson of the NFL Network is reporting that the San Diego Chargers will be without both star tight end Antonio Gates and receiver Malcom Floyd on Thursday night against the San Francisco 49ers.

Gates was doubtful and Floyd was questionable. This is Gates’ fourth missed game in the past six games. The team was hopeful Floyd would play, but he didn't have enough time on a short week to recover from nagging hamstring injuries. Floyd had two touchdown catches against the Chiefs on Sunday.

Randy McMichael is expected to start for the second straight game. Vincent Jackson and Legedu Naanee are expected to start at receiver for San Diego, which has been ravaged by injury all season.

I will have the Chargers’ inactives prior to the game.
