Mid-week mail call:
Mark from Kansas City wants to know what we should expect from Kansas City receiver Dexter McCluster this season.
Bill Williamson: I think McCluster will be very active, but I’m not sure if his role is defined. The third-year player has went from receiver to running back to receiver. Still, I think he will see him in several different variations. Yes, he will be in the slot, but I think he can be lined up a lot of different places. When the Chiefs want to mix it up, McCluster will be in play.
Rick LeBarron from Baltimore wants to know if I think we should be worried about Oakland offensive coordinator Greg Knapp of a poor preseason showing.
BW: No, I wouldn’t be concerned. The Raiders are moving to the West Coast offense. So, I expected the preseason a bit uneven. The preseason just doesn’t matter as far as performance goes. It’s all about experience. Now, if the Oakland offense stalls for several games, then you can be worried about Knapp. But the time is not now.
Joe Ebuen from Fort Campbell, KY. want to know want I expect to see from Kansas City tight end Tony Moeaki this season.
BW: I think we will see the same player he was in his rookie season before he tore his ACL last preseason. He is a complete player who will only get better. I really like the double tight-end look of Moeaki and Kevin Boss. I think the Chiefs are going to create a lot of mismatches for opposing defenses.
