Two pivotal AFC West offensive linemen are working their way back to the field.
San Diego left tackle Jared Gaither (back) and Denver guard Chris Kuper (forearm) both practiced Wednesday on a limited basis for the first time since training camp. Gaither hopes to play Sunday at Kansas City. Kuper’s recovery will also be monitored during the week.
Whether or not either returns this week, it seems both are on their way -- and their respective teams need Gaither and Kuper back badly.
In other AFC West news:
San Diego cornerback Quentin Jammer didn’t practice because of a thumb injury.
In Denver, running back Willis McGahee was limited by a ribs injury and linebacker Nate Irving is still out with a concussion he suffered Sunday.
Kansas City receiver Steve Breaston was out of practice Wednesday with a knee problem.
