Here are some areas the Kansas City Chiefs need to focus on after a 37-20 home loss to San Diego on Sunday:
Recap: The Chiefs had a chance to tie San Diego for first place in the division, but they were dominated at home and are now 1-3. The Chiefs could not build on momentum from last week’s overtime win at New Orleans. The Chiefs have looked just awful in their three losses.
Biggest area to fix: Ball security. The Chiefs had six turnovers. Quarterback Matt Cassel threw three interceptions and running back Jamaal Charles lost two fumbles. This game was 17-0 in the first quarter because of three turnovers.
Biggest area to build on: Defense. The turnovers put the Kansas City defense is bad spots all game. It played tough and the Chiefs would have been in this game had it not been for all of the turnovers. It was the second straight week the Kansas City defense played decently.
What to watch for: The Chiefs host the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. The Chiefs are going to have to find a way to bounce back and avoid an 1-4 start.
