Chiefs RBs about to have a blast

The Kansas City Chiefs running backs should not expect an easy week after their issues holding onto the ball in a 37-20 home loss to San Diego on Sunday.

Starter Jamaal Charles lost two fumbles and backup Shaun Draughn lost another. Coach Romeo Crennel said Monday that he and his staff will put the running backs through more drills designed to hold onto the ball.

Be prepared, fellas. It sounds painful.

“We have a blaster that they run through,” Crennel explained. “Going forward, rather than once a week, we might have to start doing it once a day to emphasize that we need to hang on to it and we need to carry it high and tight … We’ll put emphasis on it and like I said, more than once a week and maybe every day this week we’ll run them through the blaster.”

It doesn’t sound like Charles and the crew will be having, you know, a blast at work this week.
