The hot story in the AFC West is the NFL’s investigation that the San Diego Chargers tried to get a competitive advantage in Week 6 against Denver by using an illegal substance.
The NFL has confirmed it is investigating the Chargers after officials found a stickum-like substance in a towel that a San Diego equipment manager brought onto the field during a timeout against Denver, in a 35-24 Broncos’ win.
Such substances are banned. They are designed to help the ball stick to the players’ hands and uniform. The Chargers could face a stiff fine and/or the loss of at least one draft pick.
